When we hosted the Q4 2023 GALA Terminology Academy, we knew AI had to play a big role in the course content. We lined up experts and panelists from LSPs, corporates and tech providers to discuss a range topics which we thought would cover it all. But the typical GALA type openness and willingness to share took us by surprise: We got deep into ROI and business value, processes maturity and skillsets, the importance of pushing terminology upstream, and of course AI for and with terminology. In this talk, we condense these insights into one major take-away: As an industry, now is the time to step up and show the (GenAI) world the treasure of language data and knowledge we are sitting on.
